Manufactured in 1865. The barrel is fitted with a German silver front blade sight and a folding ladder rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked "HENRY'S PAT.OCT.16.1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN. CT." (not completely visible) ahead of the rear sight and the renumbered serial number is stamped behind the rear sight at the breech. The matching serial number is marked on the left side of the lower tang under the stock and in the upper tang slot of the stock. The rifle has the distinctive brass receiver and buttplate, and octagon barrel with integral 15-shot magazine. There is a sling loop on the left side of the barrel and a sling swivel on the left side of the stock. Mounted with a smooth oil finished replacement walnut stock with a crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).
