Description:Manufactured circa 1864 and subsequently engraved. The receiver features a scroll engraving on a punch dot background and wavy line borders. A leaping stag is engraved on the left side of the receiver, and the front sides of the receiver have a large floral engraved motif. The scrollwork extends to the buttplate tang. The top flat of the barrel is marked "HENRY'S PATENT OCT. 16, 1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN CT." ahead of the rear sight and the serial number at the breech. The serial number is also found on the left side of the lower tang, upper tang cutout on the stock and buttplate. The receiver and buttplate are silver plated. The straight grip stock is fitted with a sling swivel on the left side and a brass crescent buttplate.
