One of an estimated only 250 No. 1 Pocket Pistols manufactured with a 6" barrel circa 1857-1860 by the New Haven Arms Co. These pistols represent an important step in the evolution of lever action designs and American firearms history and were followed by the famous Henry rifle and the long line of Winchester lever actions. The frame is engraved with floral scroll designs with a simple dash border. The top barrel flat is marked "NEW HAVEN CONN/PATENT FEB 14, 1854". The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip and on the inside of each grip panel. It has a blue barrel, casehardened hammer and lever, and silver plated frame. Includes a contemporary glass top display case.
