Description:

The accompanying factory letter lists serial number 91 Colt SAA with a blue finish and .45 caliber chambering when shipped to J.P. Moores Sons of New York City on May 30, 1874. This shipment was for 15 units. It has the reconstructed "pinched frame" rear sight found only on civilian Single Action Army revolvers below serial number 200 and government test model revolvers. The "91" is stamped on the frame. Renumbered to match trigger guard, back strap, barrel and cylinder (rear face). The loading gate has the assembly number "19." The replacement barrel has the italic one-line Hartford address. The left side of the remarked frame has the two-line, two patent dates marking. The left side of the trigger guard is stamped "45 CAL." The front sight is plated in nickel. The ejector rod has the early "bullseye" head.
