The included factory letter lists this revolver as chambered in .38/40 with 4 3/4" barrel, blue finish and grips not listed when shipped to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 10, 1900. Per the consignor, this revolver was reportedly owned by a Texas Ranger who kept the gun after arresting the previous owner, a wanted murderer. There are seven notches cut behind the triggerguard. With brown leather holster.
Very good as refinished, with scattered pitting and a crack the worn grips. Mechanically needs work. Holster is fair.
