Manufactured c. 1865-1866. Hide wrapped forend and wrist with tack decorations, notches carved on top of the comb, "IC" branded on right of buttstock.

Good overall as frontier issued, with heavy western wear, brown patina, pitting, bruises, cracks, scratches, and chips. Saddle bar removed, absent sling swivel, absent buttplate. Firing pin seized, absent cartridge follower spring, absent magazine tube, otherwise mechanically very good.
