This American Eagle Luger, serial number 7555, is after the generally accepted approximate 6100-7100 serial number range of the U.S. test trial Lugers but shares similar characteristics. It is listed by its serial number 7555 on page 416 of the book "Central Powers Pistols" by Jan C. Still as an example witnessed by the author with test Luger characteristics that falls outside the traditional serial range, notably lacking "GERMANY" export markings. "American Eagle" crest on the chamber, correct small DWM/German Ordnance proof (similar to the U.S. Ordnance bomb proof) hidden inside front frame recess area and underside of breech, and nickel finished magazine with unmarked hardwood base. All matching visible serial numbers. "Dawson O" period handwritten in black ink on the interior of the right grip panel. Includes a Mills pattern U.S. canvas belt with leather double magazine pouch containing an extra nickel finished magazine with walnut base, takedown tool, and a reproduction right handed "US" embossed brown leather Luger holster.

Fine with original finish, some edge wear and scratches, and some minor freckling. Grips are also fine with some light handling marks and nicks, and a small absent section below the safety lever. Mechanically excellent. Holster, belt and magazine pouch are fine.
