A fine representative example of a desirable World War II J. P. Sauer and Sohn M30 German Luftwaffe survival drilling, as issued c.1941-1943. The 12 gauge upper barrels and 9.3x74R lower barrel are marked "KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL", with a blade front sight, flip up rifle rear sight, light engraving on the breech, Luftwaffe "stick eagle" proof on the underside of the rear lug, and the Luftwaffe eagle on the right barrel. Light engraving is present on the frame, with a side-mounted Greener safety, tang-mounted selector, and dual triggers with a single set front trigger. Checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip buttstock, the latter fitted with a raised cheekpiece and a Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad; no Luftwaffe eagle stamp is present on the stock. With a gray painted alloy case bearing the proper stenciled inventory listing on the interior, with an M30 manual, two boxes (28 live cartridges, some spent casings) of Norma 9.3x74R ammo, an empty box of Winchester 00 Buck, and two empty boxes of Peters Rifled Slugs. Very good, with some fading to brown on the barrels and traces of strong case color concentrated in the protected areas of the frame. with minor spotting and handling marks. The replaced stock shows mild scratches and dings. The case is good as repainted, with mild wear and tear on the exterior and the boxes. Mechanically very good.
