In May of 1942 the U.S. government initially placed an order with Union Switch & Signal Co. for 200,000 Model 1911A1 pistols, an order which was later revised to 55,000 pistols. Manufactured in 1943. Correct blue finish High Standard barrel with "HS" and "P" markings on the sides of the lug, and Keyes Fibre grips. Includes a 1918 dated "US" embossed M1916 brown leather holster

Fine, with original finish and thinning to smooth brown patina on the balance. Grips are also very good with some scattered light scratches and nicks. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good.
