Colt Single Action Army Flattop Target Revolver with Pearl Grips and Factory Letter

The included factory letter lists this revolver as a "Colt Single Action Flattop Target Revolver" in .32/20 with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, nickel finish, and type of stocks not listed and indicates it was the sole gun of this type in a shipment to John P. Lovell Arms Company in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 6, 1893. Per "The Official Record of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 1873-1895", only forty-eight .32-20 caliber Target Model revolvers were manufactured, and only eleven had 7 1/2 inch barrels and nickel finish. The matching serial number is on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. The factory refinish number "212" is on the front of the cylinder, the loading gate arm, the left side of the front strap, and the right side of the back strap. "HN" is marked on the left side of the hammer. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

ConditionVery fine as factory refinished with nearly all of the re-plated nickel remaining, minor wear, a few dings and scratches, some pitting under the finish mainly on the cylinder, replacement hammer, and attractive colors on the pearl grips. Mechanically fine.
