Description:

This is a desirable example of a World War II 15 cm Nebelwerfer (translation "smoke thrower") 41 multiple rocket launcher, as used in German military service between 1941-1945. Better known as the "Screaming Mimi" or "Moaning Minnie" by Allied troops who encountered it due to the characteristic high pitched screech made by incoming rockets. This launcher has six tubes that use smoke, high explosive and chemical 15 cm Wurfgranate 41 projectiles (158mm, 6.22 inch), which are spin-stabilized and have a rocket motor located in the front and exhaust venturis on the lower half, with a maximum firing range of 4.3 miles. Reportedly around 6,000 of these launchers and a half million 15 cm rockets were manufactured during the war, with a very limited amount surviving today. The serial number and "beq 43" marked on the rear plate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall, retains 95% later applied green finish with some scratches and handling marks. Appears to be mechanically fine, although the electronic ignition system is untested. This impressive Nebelwerfer 41 Multiple Rocket Launcher would make a fine addition to any advanced German military arms or armor collection! NOTE: This Destructive Device is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479, National Firearms Act.
