Description:

Manufactured in 1903. Features fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights, standard markings on the oil-quenched receiver, blue finished barrel and barrel bands, niter blue extractor, and bright bolt body with blued handle and knurled cocking piece. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut straight grip stock with grasping grooves, ""77" above a circled script "P" proof stamped behind the trigger guard, boxed script "JSA/1902" inspection cartouche stamped on the left wrist, and a smooth, blued steel buttplate. Includes a "DUNCAN/W.K.G." marked Model 1907 leather sling and brass muzzle cap.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% plus original blue finish, 85% plus oil-quenched casehardened finish, and 75% fiery niter blue finish on the extractor with minor edge wear, light spotting/pitting mostly on the buttplate, and minor handling marks. The rear sight windage tension lever is loose. Stock is excellent with attractive grain, a few light handling marks, along with crisp grasping grooves and stampings. Mechanically excellent.
