Description:

This is a very rare example of an early WWII Schmeisser MP41 submachine gun that was manufactured by the C.G. Haenel company. The MP41 combines the MP40s tube receiver, stamped magazine well, and bolt assembly with captive recoil spring with the earlier Schmeisser-pattern selective trigger mechanism and hardwood stock. Blade front and two-leaf rear sights, with matching numbers on the barrel and receiver, and the model markings on top of the receiver. The milled triggerguard is fitted with a two-position selector switch with "D" (full) and "E" (semi) markings. Smooth pistol grip stock with forearm grasping grooves, flat steel buttplate, and a brown leather sling. Magazine absent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 95% plus professionally restored high polish blue, showing some mild spotting, a few areas of brown patina, and minor handling marks. The stock is also very fine, with mild scuffing and dings. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
