Description:

Manufactured in 1951. Blued steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard markings, a band of oak leaf engraving at the breech, chokes marked "**"/"*" (modified/full), and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The coin finished action displays the Grade IV pattern from the 1950s showing a vixen bringing a mallard to her pups in a hollow on the left, a pair of pointers retrieving pheasants on the right, and a pair of pigeons on the underside and a pair of pheasant on the triggerguard. The scenes are surrounded by Germanic oak leaf relief engraving. The gun is signed "FFunken" on both sides of the action for FN Chief Engraver Felix Funken. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted safety/selector with gold "U", "O", and "S". Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with Browning ventilated recoil pad. Includes a Browning Tolex takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .726/.724 inches; choke constriction .016/.032 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.036 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 1 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 12 oz.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
