Manufactured c. 1978 in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG), with this example being the 478th produced in the series. Features fixed white dot blade front and notch rear sights, "folded" upper portion of the front of the slide, gold color filled SIG Sauer marking along with "125 JAHRE" and "1853-1978" on the left of the slide, "MONTAGE SUISSE" (Made in Switzerland) marked on the right of the slide, along with "BP" (Benerprobe) proofs on the left side of the slide and barrel. Matching visible "JP478" serial numbers on the alloy frame, slide, and barrel. Fitted with a pair of floral relief carved walnut grips and an unmarked blued magazine. Includes a walnut display case fitted for the pistol, a manual, and a pair of keys for the case.
Excellent, retaining 99% original phosphate, black, and gold finishes with some limited minor freckling/spotting on the slide and limited minor handling marks. The grips are also excellent with crisp engravings. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine.
