Manufactured in 1939, this rifle is nicely engraved in the Alden George Urlich style. The breech end of the barrel has a splash of scroll engraving on the top, the top of the receiver is vine and scroll engraved and the receiver is scroll engraved with curl borders and a hawk in a tree on the left side and a squirrel in a tree on the right side. This distinct style of the engraving is pictured in The Book of Winchester Engraving by R.L. Wilson on page 293. It is equipped with the standard sights, the short 11 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.
Professionally refinished/embellished and retains nearly all of the blue finish with minor wear on the magazine tube and slide bar from cycling the action and thinning on the takedown screw. There is some minor pitting on the bottom of the slide bar. The wood is excellent with only a couple of light marks on the stock. All the markings are crisp.
