Description:This is a late Model 1890 and the distinctive feature is the locking cut made at the front top of the receiver to allow the breech bolt to lock externally. Features a nickel receiver with the remaining metal blued. This take-down rifle features a fixed front and rear sight, Lyman tang sight, 3/4 length tubular magazine, 12 groove forearm and plain straight grip stock with a metal crescent buttplate.
Rating Definition:Period replated. The barrel retains 50% blue with the balance thinning to a mottled brown/blue. Sharp markings, especially the proof marks. The buttplate has 90% blue with spots of surface pitting. Nickel receiver is nearly all intact showing some flaking on the top. Markings are crisp. The wood is revarnished with only light scratches and dings. The action is excellent. A very nice two tone model 90 in very good condition.
