Manufactured circa 1700, this rifle is marked " LIEGE" on the left lock and "BOSSET" on the right lock. There are gold inlaid scroll and floral patterns on the rear and muzzle end portions of the barrels and concave rib. There is a blade front sight mounted on the rib about 3 1/2" from the muzzle. All iron mountings, double hammers and triggers, wooden ramrod with brass tip and half stock with decorative checkered wrist and iron buttplate.
Good. The metal surfaces have a brown patina with light oxidation on the barrels. Much of the gold inlay remains with the majority on the breech end. The stock is good as varnished with a few minor age cracks at the butt, sharp edges on the flats and scattered minor nicks, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
