Description:

This model was introduced in 1922 with this rifle being produced until 1938 and features a front dovetail blade sight and tang mounted short range peep sight on the upper tang. The rear sight has been removed and a filler block installed. Full length tubular magazine. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address with the caliber designation on the left upper flat at the breech. The upper tang is marked "Marlin / MOD. 39" and a star with the serial number on the lower tang. The receiver and lever are casehardened, the remaining parts blue. Plain forearm with a steel end cap and pistol grip stock with a black hard rubber Marlin buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel and magazine retain approximately 80% original thinning blue finish. The receiver shows much of the original casehardening pattern on the left side and approximately 20% original faded case colors on the top and right side with the balance of the receiver and the lever faded to a smooth grayish silver patina. The wood is very good with about 50% of the original varnish remaining, some wear on the toe and buttplate toe, and overall a few scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
