Description:

Manufactured in 1907 with pinched blade front and adjustable rear sporting sights. Standard two line address/patent date on the top barrel flat, caliber designation on the left upper rear flat and the Winchester oval proof on the top flat and top of the receiver at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK" and the serial number is marked on the underside of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel and magazine retain approximately 85% plus faded original blue finish with scattered thinning and high edge wear. There are a few minor dings and scratches on the barrel. The receiver retains approximately 75% original thinning finish with high edge wear, three moderate scratches on the left side and some smooth gray patina on the underside. The lever retains approximately 40% of the original faded case colors with the balance having a smooth gray patina. The buttplate has a smooth gray patina showing some of the original casehardening pattern and some minor pitting on the heel and toe. The side of the buttplate exhibits some sanding marks on the left side. The wood is fine retaining much of the original varnish and showing overall scattered minor dents, dings and some aforementioned sanding marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
