Manufactured in 1913. This Winchester Model 1890 slide action rifle is a Third model with the visible locking lug on the breechblock protruding through the sides of the receiver. The two line Winchester address/patent dates, as well as "22 LONG" are marked on the left flat and the three line trademark information on the upper tang. 1902 patented blade front sight with bead and 1902 patented adjustable rear sight. Plain straight grip stock and grooved forearm, with crescent steel buttplate and 3/4 length tubular magazine. Matching serial number on frame and lower tang.
Very good plus. The barrel and magazine tube retain approximately 40% of the faded original blue with the balance a smooth brown patina with most of the blue on the barrel. The buttplate and frame retain sporadic traces of blue (stronger amounts on the bolt) with the balance a smooth gray patina. The wood is very fine with some minor dings and scratches.
