Manufactured in 1904. The special order features include the half octagon barrel, uncheckered plain pistol grip stock, and shotgun style buttplate. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent date marking and "38 W.C.F." Beach front sight and tang peep sight with the rear sight having been removed (now absent). Full length magazine tube with smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered Winchester hard rubber shotgun style buttplate, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, and iron forend cap.

Very good. The barrel and magazine retain traces of original blue finish with the balance mostly a smooth brown patina. The receiver and forend cap have a smooth brown-gray patina with traces of blue finish in the protected areas (strongest on the lower tang). The lever retains traces of silvered out original case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina. Overall there is some very scattered minor pitting. The wood is also very good, showing some light cleaning and some minor handling marks with a hairline crack on top of the comb near the buttplate. There is a minor chip missing from the buttplate near the toe. Mechanically excellent.
