Manufactured in 1903, this particular example is a Third Model with the distinctive integral dust cover rail. Blade front sight is absent and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight, and "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The brass elevator is marked "32 CAL". The model designation is marked on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. All blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth forearm with iron end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
Good. The rifle shows mostly a dark brown patina overall. The frame has a few areas of minor pitting, the barrel has a few areas of spotting and minor dings, and the left side plate screw is marred. The highly figured burl walnut buttstock is very good with scattered minor dints, dings and scratches associated with the gun of this age. The elevator marking is fading, otherwise the markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
