Manufactured in 1923. Marble Sheard No. 6 pinned beaded blade front and three leaf rear sight. Top of barrel has the two line address/patent date marking and "38-55", with a factory proof on top of the barrel and receiver. Upper tang has three line model, maker, and trademark information with serial number on frame underside. Full length magazine, two barrel bands, and saddle ring on left receiver side. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.
Very good with refinished barrel and magazine. The refinished barrel retains 70% of the blue finish thinning to a plum patina and the magazine retains 30% blue finish with the balance a mottled gray patina. The remaining metal surfaces retains traces of blue finish with the overall balance a smooth gray patina with evidence of being cleaned some time ago and some minor pitting on the receiver. The freshened wood is fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
