The included factory letter confirms the serial number, 25/35 caliber, half octagon barrel, plain trigger, and takedown configuration. The rifle was received in the warehouse on February 15, 1905 and shipped on March 3, 1905. Lyman beaded blade and three-leaf rear sight, with a tang peep sight. The special order half octagon barrel has two-line address and patent date marking and "25-35 W.C.F." on the top flat and the upper left flat has the two-line nickel steel marking. Nicely figured smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
Very fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 75% thinning original blue finish and the reciever retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown patina. The remaining surfaces retain 20% original case colors. Mechanically excellent.
