This is an example of a British made brass barreled, silver mounted flintlock holster pistol. The top rear barrel flat is marked "BRANDER MINORIES LONDON" and the left rear is marked with a recessed "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proof mark flanking a "/WB". The lock is marked "Brander" in script. The front strap is marked with 4 recessed silver hallmarks. The lock, hammer and forend cap have a scalloped border engraving and there is a floral boutique on the trigger guard. The barrel is brass, the mountings are silver and the lock, hammer, flash pan and frizzen are silver plated. Solid under rib, with brass ramrod and mounted with a smooth walnut stock with tear drop flats, a shell design relief carved directly behind the barrel tang, decorative silver floral vine design side plate and relief carved silver buttcap with floral designs on the sides and grotesque face in the center.
Good. The barrel, metal surfaces and silver are bright. There are protected areas of the silver that have attractively darkened with age. The barrel has a light goldish tint and there are a few minor scratches. The stock is very good with a couple of minor cracks in the grip area, a few minor dents and sharp edges on the flats. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
