Manufactured in 1927. Standard nickel steel marking on the left rear of the barrel followed by "405 W.C.F.", two line address/patent dates on the left side of the receiver, "MODEL 1895/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN." on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the receiver and barrel at the breech. All blue finish with casehardened hammer. Dovetailed blade and adjustable sporting rear sights. Mounted with a smooth walnut Schnabel forearm with ebony forend insert and straight grip stock with a casehardened steel crescent buttplate with "ZAG Diehl" crudely scratched into it.
Very fine. The rifle retains 80% plus original blue finish with thinning on the barrel, high edge wear on the receiver and lever, and normal usage wear on the magazine. Some cold blue touch up is present on the forward portion of the magazine box. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor dents and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is fine.
