This is an example of a very desirable Winchester Model 1892 Trapper Model Saddle Ring Carbine. Manufactured in 1916 featuring a fixed blade front sight and rear ladder sight graduated to 200 yards. The left rear of the very scarce 16 inch barrel is marked with the two line address followed by the caliber markings, while the top of the barrel and receiver is stamped with the oval Winchester factory proofs. Fitted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a smooth steel buttplate.
Very good with traces of the original blue finish remaining with the balance a smooth plum patina. Shows some light pitting near the muzzle and towards the rear of the barrel. Wood is good with a faint hairline crack at the tip of the forearm and scattered dings and dents along the stock. Mechanically excellent.
