Blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on a barrel stamped "MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. Directly behind the trigger is marked "PAT NOV. 5, 1895/-- NOV. 12, 1895 --". Mounted with a smooth tapered forearm with an ebony forend insert and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.
Fine. The rifle retains 75% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The hammer retains 90% original case colors and the buttplate has a mottled gray patina. The stock is fine with a repaired wrist (dowel pins visible) and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
