Manufactured in 1903, this rifle is equipped with a dovetail German silver blade front sight, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight, and full length magazine tube. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address and patent information ahead of the rear sight and the caliber at the breech. The upper tang has the three-line model and patent date marking. The serial number is stamped on the underside of the frame. It is mounted with a nicely figured smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a forend cap and crescent buttplate.
Very good. The rifle retains 40% of the faded original blue finish overall. There is some high edge wear and minor scratches on the barrel along with some tooling type marks on the left near the breech. The frame worn to bright on the bottom and has a gray patina on most of the raised areas. The lever, hammer, and buttplate have some traces of the original case colors with otherwise a gray patina with some spotting. The revarnished wood is fair with minor dents and deep horizontal sanding marks. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
