Description:Manufactured in 1891, this rifle has since been sent back to the factory and rebarreled as evidenced by the "WP" proof marks on the barrel and frame at the breech, which were first used in both places in 1905 and the non-standard barrel markings. It has the Third Model integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated edges. The upper left barrel flat is marked with the address and Kings improvement patent markings ahead of the rear sight, "MADE IN U.S.A." under the rear sight, and "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL" in script letters. The serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang, and the upper tang has the model designation between two foliate designs. It features dovetailed blade front and a semi-buckhorn rear sight. It is mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut forearm with steel forearm cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
Rating Definition:Fine as factory rebarreled. The rifle has a streaked brown patina on the frame and retains 90% of the blue finish on the barrel, magazine tube, and small parts with some patches of oxidation and minor scratches. The cartridge elevator has an aged patina. The re-oiled wood is very good with some superficial small scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
