Winchester had a total production run of approximately 14,000 of the redesigned Model 1901 shotguns which were improved Model 1887s redesigned for smokeless powder and offered in 10 gauge only. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent dates followed by "MODEL 1901 10GA." with "FULL" and what appears to be a circled "A" and a cross below. The left side of the receiver is marked with the "WRACo" monogram. The upper tang has the two-line trademark, and the serial number is on the bottom front of the receiver. It features a brass bead front sight and a receiver groove rear sight, a 2 7/8 inch chamber and is mounted with smooth walnut forearm panels and a round knob pistol grip stock with the less common checkered steel buttplate. It has sling swivels on the magazine tube and bottom of the butt. The length of pull is 13 1/8 inches.
Very good plus. The shotgun retains 50% of the faded original blue finish with most of the finish retains on the receiver and under half on the barrel. There are some minor marks and scratches throughout and a streaked appearance to the barrels. The wood is very good with some small pressure marks and minor scrapes. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
