Manufactured in 1900. This rifle has the Third Model integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated edges. The top barrel flat is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860" and "32 WCF." at the breech. The bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL" in script letters. The serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang. It features Lyman white bead blade front and a rear adjustable "V" notch sight. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873" between two foliate designs. With a blue finish with full magazine and casehardened hammer and lever. It is mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
Very good. The rifle retains traces of the original blue finish with a mottled brown patina and scattered scratches and dings. The casehardened hammer and lever have a brown patina. The markings are clear. The brass elevator has a smooth dark patina. The revarnished wood is good some minor scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
