This is an early production Winchester Model 1890 that was manufactured in 1894 with a casehardened takedown frame and fixed two position globe front and fixed dovetailed notch rear sight on an octagon barrel marked with the two-line New Haven address and "22 WRF" at the breech. The upper tang is fitted with an adjustable peep sight, with the serial number on the lower tang. Mounted with a straight grip stock, casehardened crescent buttplate and hammer and 12 groove slide handle.

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube 40% blue with the balance having aged to a primarily uniform deep brown with some edge wear and light handling marks. The receiver has 30% plus of the original case colors. The balance having aged and silvered to a gray patina with mild brown spotting. The Breech bolt has been reblued and displays some minor surface scratches. The wood is very good, with warm color and attractive grain.
