Manufactured in 1920, this is a takedown variation of the most successful lever action rifle in history. John Moses Browning's design has scarcely been changed between 1894 and today. The Winchester 94 continues to demonstrate the utility of Browning's design and remains a popular deer rifle. The octagon barrel is equipped with a blade front sight and flattop sporting rear sight and is marked with the two-line patent and address information ahead of the rear sight on the left and with the caliber designation on the left at the breech. The top of the barrel and action have the Winchester WP proof mark. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model and trade mark information and is tapped for peep sight mounting. The serial number is marked on the front of the frame at the bottom. It is mounted on a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.
Very fine, The rifle retains 75% of the original finish with a brown patina on the balance. The wood is fine with some slight scuffs and minor dings. The action is excellent, and the markings are clear throughout.
