Fine Nimschke Engraved W. W. Marston Superposed Three Barrel 32 Derringer
This pistol was manufactured between 1864 and 1872 and has the maker and patent dates marking on the left side of the frame and the selector/indicator switch on the right. The frame sides have floral scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds while the barrels and back strap have geometric engraving including a Nimschke star behind the hammer. It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips and has the standard blade and notch sights.
ConditionFine. The barrels retain 40% plus of the original blue finish with some oxidation and brown patina on the balance. The frame retains 50% of the original silver plating with an aged patina on the exposed brass. The grips are very good with attractive varied tones, a minor crack in each panel and handling wear. The engraving patterns and markings remain clear, and the action is fine.
