The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and King's improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the receiver at the rear has a saddle ring staple with ring. The serial number is stamped on the lower tang just behind the trigger guard. It is mounted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock featuring a brass crescent buttplate with compartment containing the takedown cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Fair as rechambered to centerfire and fitted with replacement parts (sights and some screws) and equipped with a repaired front barrel band. The brass has an attractive, aged patina with various light scratches and small nicks. The iron has a deep brown patina with some spotting and minor marks. The wood is also fine with some small chips, scrapes and dings along with a small crack in the front of the barrel band and repaired cracks on the butt. The action functions fine and the markings are legible.
