This Winchester Model 1873 was manufactured in 1886 and features a deluxe multi-point checkered forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with ebony grip insert and standard rifle buttplate with cleaning rod compartment (empty). It is fitted with blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights and has standard Winchester markings.
Good as partially refinished. Traces of original blue finish remain on the barrel and magazine tube with the balance having faded to a dark brown patina. The lever also has a dark brown patina. The remaining components retain 85% of the period replated nickel finish which has patches of pitting, flaking, and some spots of oxidation. The refinished wood is very good with attractive figure, sharp checkering, and minor marks. The action is fine, and the markings are mostly legible.
