Manufactured in 1896. The top of the barrel ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two address and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. AUG. 21, 1894" and the serial number is on the underside of the receiver. Dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable rear buck horn sight. Full length magazine, blue finish, casehardened hammer, lever, buttplate and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with a steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine as partially refinished (wood). The rifle retains 80% plus original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, some thinning on the barrel ahead of the rear sight and on the upper tang, mostly a smooth gray patina on the takedown ring and some minor scratches and scuffs on the receiver. The hammer, lever and buttplate have strong faded original case colors mixed with a smooth gray patina. The wood is fine as preserved with a coat of varnish added overall showing some scattered minor dents and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
