Fine. 30% of the original blue finish remains with a brown patina on the balance, some spotting, and small patches of light pitting. The wood is also fine with mild scratches and dings. The markings are crisp throughout. The action functions fine. this is a solid representative example of a Winchester Model 1873 44-40 rifle!
