Manufactured in 1936. This model was the replacement for the venerable Model 1886 and featured stronger internals to handle the higher pressure of the more powerful .348 Winchester cartridge. Fitted with a ramped hooded beaded blade front sight and a bolt mounted elevation adjustable rear peep sight. The rear barrel sight has been removed and a filler block put in its place. Fitted with a 3/4 length magazine. Mounted on a diamond pattern beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with quick detach sling swivels, hard rubber grip cap, and a checkered steel buttplate.
Very fine with 95% plus original blue finish. Displaying mostly light handling marks and pin point spotting on the lower tang. The wood is very fine with well defined checkering, highly figured grain, scattered handling marks, and two small holes in the left side of the buttstock that have been carefully filled. Mechanically excellent.
