The consignor states that this carbine was once part of the Winchester Collection in Hartford, Conn., and is listed on page 179 in the book "Inventory of the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Firearms Reference Collection" by Thomas C. Johnson and Edwin Pugsley. At the time of writing, the writer did not have access to this book.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The carbine retains 97% plus of the bright original blue finish with some minor flaking on the receiver and barrel band, some minor wear on the receiver from the saddle ring and a very small scratch on the magazine tube. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered minor dings and pressure dents. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
