The left front of the receiver is acid etched with a scene of two Indians, and a floral vine design is on the rear portion. The left side plate has a wagon train in a desert scene. The right front of the receiver has a cowboy and horse in a desert scene, and a floral vine design is at the rear. The right side plate has an Indian in a desert scene. There is a matte background on the receiver etching. The dust cover and forend cap also have a floral vine design with a matte background. The tang of the buttplate is engraved with a floral vine design, and the buttplate has a cowboy with a matte background. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement dates ahead of the rear sight. The upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL. 1873." in fancy letters flanked foliate designs, and the serial number is stamped in script on the lower tang. It has a dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable rear buckhorn sporting sight. Blue finish with silver plated receiver, buttplate and forend cap; casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate; and a checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as custom embellished and finished with 97% blue finish remaining showing some mild edge wear and a few minor dings. Most of the vivid case colors remain on the hammer and lever. Almost all of the bright niter blue remains on the loading gate. The remaining parts retain 95% plus silver plating, some of which has darkened with age. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor dents, dings and crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
