Manufactured in 1888 as a fourth model with the serial number stamped in script on the lower tang and subsequently custom engraved in the 20th century. The receiver features extensive floral scrollwork on a punch dot back ground with the addition of an eagle and the date "1889" on the left side and a buffalo on the right side. The barrel has an upper barrel band with integral front sight blade, two leaf rear sight, two-line address/patent date marking, remarked caliber marking ("44-RF"), saddle ring mounted on the left side of the receiver and brass buttplate with engraved scrollwork and trapdoor (cleaning rod not included). The bolt has the correct rimfire firing pin, which has two wedge shaped firing pins (one located on each side of the breech pin collar).

Fine as custom embellished. The barrel and magazine retain 90% of the bright high polish custom blue finish showing some thinning to a gray. The frame and buttplate retain 20% of the sliver plating. The wood is also fine with limited minor handling marks and retaining nearly all of the high gloss varnish. Mechanically excellent.
