Description:

The board is mounted in a wood frame measuring 54 1/4 inches wide by 41 1/4 inches tall. The top and bottom sections to the frame have a relief carved decorative gesso panel with raised letter: "TRADE U.M.C. MARK" and "THE UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO.," respectively. The display board measures approximately 44 inches wide by 31 inches tall and displays numerous U M C ammunition from lead rounds to the BB cap to the 1 inch Gatling cartridge and a separate box featuring percussion caps, primers and wads, all described below and nicely arranged around an image of an elk in a mountain scene inside a diamond (see image).

Rating Definition:

Fair. The original wood frame is weathered and the ornate inset has some missing chips. The raised relief panels are faded, but mostly intact. The glass front is missing and the .45 government solid head cartridge is loose. The board shows staining but most of the printing remains and the colors are vibrant overall. A must have for the serious gun or antique ammunition collector. The ultimate gun collection room display piece!
