Manufactured in 1926. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the model, Winchester trade mark and caliber designation, and the right rear is marked with the two-line address. The top of the barrel and receiver are marked with the Winchester oval proof at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 92/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF &FQN." and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, saddle ring staple and ring on the left side of the receiver and mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and steel crescent buttplate.
Fine with 60% original blue finish remaining with some muzzle wear, some thinning on the barrel, a couple very small dings on the magazine tube and some thinning to a smooth gray on the receiver from normal handling over the years. There is also some wear caused by the saddle ring. The buttplate has a smooth mottled brown and gray patina. The refinished wood retains almost all of the finish and shows a few minor dents and handling marks. The checkering remains very crisp. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent. A very nice addition to any advanced Winchester collection.
