Description:

This is an exceptional example of an original WWII M1911A1 pistol that was manufactured by the US&S company, circa late 1943. This retains all its original Dulite finish. The left side of the slide is marked with the intertwined "USS" company logo and "U.S. & S. CO./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A". The lower left side of the frame has the circled "RCD" inspection stamp for LTC Robert Downie, the New York district Ordnance inspector. The right side of the frame is roll marked with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over serial number (1087099) followed by, "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". It has the original/correct late production parts that consist of the narrow hammer with checkered spur, checkered thumb safety, checkered slide stop release, and checkered, arched main spring housing. It is fitted with an all blued stamped checkered trigger. It has an all blued "HS" marked barrel with "P" proof on the left side of the lug. It is fitted with a set of late war, Keyes-Fibre, manufactured brown checkered plastic grips, with the large reinforcing rings around the screws. They have reinforcing ribs on the back sides and are marked with a mold numbers "6" and "13". It does comes with an all blued WWII magazine with the letter "S" stamped on the lip of the floor plate. It is complete with a "U.S." stamped brown leather shoulder holster. The back side is stamped "U.S./BOYT/43".

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of its original du-lite finish with only minor edge and high spot wear in a few areas. The chamber area of the barrel does show some minor wear from cycling the action, however the breech face shows only very limited wear from test firing. The grips are also in excellent condition. Mechanically excellent. The leather shoulder holster is in very fine condition with a nice light, unoiled brown color overall with clear sharp markings. A really super nice all original US&S M1911A1 pistol rig that one would be proud to display!
