Attractive Black Powder Colt Single Action Army Revolver
Manufactured in 1881. The barrel has the one-line Hartford address on top, the frame has the three-line patent dates marking on the left side, and "45 CAL" is stamped on the left side of the trigger guard. The ejector rod head is the curved indented design. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder ("6736") and barrel ("6736").
ConditionFine, retaining 60% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth dark brown patina. 40% of original case colors remain in the protected areas on the frame. The grip is very fine with some high edge wear and minor dings and scratches and retains most of the original finish. Mechanically functions, although needs work as hammer does not hold at the half and full cock positions.
