Box lock action with bushed firing pins, dolls head rib extension third fastener, dual triggers and manual sliding tang safety. The receiver is engraved with tight English scroll patterns with "ARMY & NAVY C.S.L." markings on both sides, and matching engraved trigger plate and guard. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with engraved fittings, engraved steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, blank initial oval, and solid rubber recoil pad. With modern manufactured cloth and leather takedown case. Stock measurements and weight are: drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 14 5/8 inches.

Fine with 95% refinished blue on the barrels, some light edge wear, and some scattered pitting under the blue. The receiver has been period re-blued with an overall blue/gray patina, slightly washed out engraving and markings, some light spotting, and a brown/gray patina on the trigger guard. The wood is also fine with mostly sharp freshened checkering, small dings throughout, a loose chip near the forend lever, and freshened rubbed oil finish. Mechanically excellent.
