Description:

Named for their association with America's airborne units, the U.S. M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine was solely made by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors in two identified serial number blocks. "N" marked blade front and "S" two-leaf rear sights, with an Inland barrel dated "1-43", Type I barrel band, flat bolt, milled trigger guard, checkered button safety and an "EI" marked magazine catch. The stock is the high wood pattern with a two-rivet handguard, "RI/3" on the bottom of the 'slim jim' grip, brown leather cheekpad with brass rivets and an oiler, and the spring-loaded buttplate with proper casting numbers on the interior.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as restored back to World War II configuration, with 80% of the original parkerized finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, rubbing from a removed bayonet lug on the barrel, and light spotting and handling marks overall. The lightly sanded, reoiled stock is good, with some tears in the cheekpiece, mild scuffs and dents. Mechanically excellent.
